en I have two days to get there. Hopefully [Saturday] will put me closer.

en Our goal is 365 days a year, 24-hour activity and we're getting closer and closer. Lots of good things coming down the line, this being one of them.

en Cristiano has had a difficult few days but he's okay for Saturday, ... He trained on Thursday and Friday and he'll definitely be involved on Saturday.

en But the thing that came together for us was, No. 1, we had a legitimate No. 1 closer in Eck. Secondly, we had a real good team. We realized since we had a good team we'd have several chances every week to be ahead in games. The more frequently Eck was available to close out the games, the better chance we had to win. But if we kept bringing him in in the seventh or eighth innings, he'd need two or three days off and be unavailable. The next two or three days we'd have to use somebody who wasn't a closer. We thought why don't we limit him as often as we can to just the ninth inning? That way he'd be available for just about every win opportunity.

en There's different things (training) on different days. Mondays and Wednesdays we run at another facility. The other days we work out at the Hawthorne place. Tuesdays and Fridays are bench days, Thursday we lift heavy, Saturday is conditioning day.

en He's coming closer and closer. He's still a baby, but there is a big race coming from him. But Saturday, I don't know.

en I guess the books are kind of like the old Saturday afternoon matinee serials. Most of them were westerns in those days. Where the hero is going off the cliff in a car filled with dynamite and that's were it would end, until you came back the following Saturday to find out what happened.

en The word Lent comes from the Old English (for) 'lengthen,' and it refers to the lengthening of the days as we find ourselves in the days closer to spring.

en We're planning on playing Saturday. We're still days out. What is it, the cone of concern? It doesn't look very good. But anyway, whatever we'll need to do, we'll need to do. We're preparing as if we're playing Friday or Saturday.

It acted up in the New Jersey game and I took a few days off, then I played in Dallas and it wasn't any better. en We needed some time. The only days we did anything was Friday and Saturday. Both of the days were more of just getting our heads rather than our bodies ready. We had a talk last night with the team and a lot of really good things came out.

en We know over the next few days people will criticize us and rightly so because our performances haven't been up to our standards. There will be a lot of disappointment for the next few days but we are training on Friday and Saturday mornings and Sunday's game is a great chance to put it right because the fans will want us to put a show on for them.
