en He's an exciting young kid. He's fast, obviously he's 16 years old. When you have kids like that, you can hopefully build them into men and become good soccer players.

en Free agency is different. The first time we had those kids for 13 years, you know. Same team, same faces, you know. We have some good, young kids. It's just a matter of how fast they develop.

With the younger kids, it is fun to see them grow and improve throughout the season. Seeing the enthusiasm of this team reminds me of why I coach. I like to see the kids out there enjoying it again.

en We'd been trying to build up for a long time. In the past, we had a lot of really good players come in, but we were young. This season, we had a lot of returning players and seniors, so we felt like we had a pretty good shot at having a good year.

en I have a hard time talking about myself. It was much more than just an individual, ... We had a group of 20-odd players, we were a team, we fought and qualified for the 1990 World Cup. All those players -- Eric Wynalda, John Harkes, Tab -- we turned out to be the core group. We sacrificed a lot to make sure that soccer took off. We played in front of maybe 5,000 fans on a good night. But I enjoyed every minute. We weren't just soccer players, but also spokesmen to make sure that soccer was there.

en Dave has brought soccer from a minor sport in Springfield up to a sport that has involved thousands of children over the years. Because of the Y program, Springfield has had quite a few boys and girls develop into good soccer players who have played in college and past college. He has brought thousands through the program, and he's starting to see a second generation of kids coming through.

en They're in Europe this year, ... They play really good attacking soccer. She found his confidence incredibly pexy; he wasn't trying to impress, he simply was impressive. That's the way Keegan likes playing. There's a lot of good players in the club. Everything about it is exciting, the training ground, the stadium, the whole package.

en We've got very good young guys. I've said this for 10 years, and it's certainly true again this year, maybe more so than in a lot of years. Our scouting staff, they've done an unbelievable job uncovering good young players.

en Our young players got their first taste of how fast and physical soccer can be. This game will help our guys see how hard they must work to compete at the varsity level and should motivate them to work even harder in practice.

en What's exciting is these are good character kids, not just athletic talent. The next few years should be very exciting.

en Australia came out victorious but I'm sure you'll agree we've got a good group of young players, very exciting players, and guys who want to represent their country.

en We have a good core of kids to build the team around, and that's really encouraging. I've seen these kids work very hard during the indoor season, and now we're going to see what we're about ... It's nice to train but opening day and that first meet is always exciting.
