It's really fun to ordsprog

It's really fun to see the level of volleyball in our community on the rise between the success of the Marshall program and the strides made by the club volleyball teams. Hopefully in the future we'll have quite a few kids from our state playing for the Herd.

She was very raw as a volleyball player. She's an athlete, and she can do whatever she wants. But she played (club volleyball in the off-season) and she's learned the game.

I had never thought about playing volleyball until my freshman year, ... But Small stopped me in the hallway. 'Come play volleyball for us.' Tryouts were the next day.

She hasn't played club volleyball; she's only played school volleyball. And she's just practiced her way into being my starting setter. She just picks up fast. Playing here is a dream come true. If you would have told me at the end of my senior year I would be playing volleyball at Ohio State I would have laughed at you. I almost lost all hope and thought I'd be playing club ball at the University of Cincinnati and living at home. I consider myself very, very lucky to be able to play here.

I had to make my focus on volleyball. It was really hard (not to play basketball). When I moved here, I thought that I'd try volleyball. I really started to love it. I still like basketball, but I think I've grown to like volleyball more.

I think (that experience is) an advantage for us. They've also been to two state volleyball tournaments. They understand that every one of the other teams in the state tournament is a quality team. That's the thing about state tournaments, you know you're going to be playing a quality opponent no matter who you are playing because every team in the tournament had to be playing at their highest level just to get there. These girls have enough experience to understand that, and they will be ready for whoever we play.

They're a good team, I think we have gotten better, we're improving. We're not playing perfect volleyball but we're making strides to where we want to be.

I am proud of the fifth- and sixth-grade volleyball program. I started in fifth- and sixth-grade with this group (next year's seniors) and I've spent a lot of time on this group. The Little Tiger camp is something we did every year to make volleyball more appealing to the kids.

It's great to know you can beat a team you've never beaten before. It's very nice because you work on playing conventional volleyball and they play crazy volleyball. It frustrates the fool out of you. But we worked hard, persevering, passing and not giving up even though they dug us.

I worked with her for 15 years. In my opinion she is the best volleyball official in this part of the state. I know I can attribute my progress as a volleyball official because of working with officials like Kelly.

The nice thing about volleyball as a sport is that in basketball and other sports, when a match is over someone always is upset with an official and it seems like volleyball is the other way, and especially the way Kelly presents her self. Even losing teams felt they were always given a fair match.

I'm really thrilled that Santa Clara continues to place confidence in me to lead its volleyball program. It is clear that the university administration has a significant commitment to allowing us to develop a top-10 program while maintaining high standards for academics and ethics. After doing some soul-searching about what I want in my life, I really continue to be drawn to the fact that I can mirror our volleyball program's philosophies with those of Santa Clara University.

She has shown the energy and enthusiasm to build this program. She has been associated with successful programs both on the court and in the classroom. We're eager for her to get started and look for similar success from our volleyball program.

I played basketball and softball in high school. I didn't know much about volleyball until my daughter got involved. My son used to always play football and basketball. He didn't get started playing volleyball until the ninth grade.
