Vote buying is part of the case, but the absentee-ballot interference is, to me, much more sinister. It involves forging names, the theft of ballots from the post office, and voting (on behalf of) people who never even see the ballot.

No serviceman on the frontline overseas can go get his ballot postmarked. I don't think it's reasonable for us to think that we should force him to do that or (we will) not count his ballot.

Hundreds of people made phone calls to my offices and to other offices in the county complaining they didn't understand the ballot -- that Al Gore's name was second on the ballot but his punch hole was third, which is entirely illegal under election law in Florida and it made it a puzzle rather than a ballot.

What we were trying to do is make a really positive album with lots of different elements from different decades and do lots of different things. We were really trying to bring back the melody, bring back the harmony and lots of loud guitars and bring back the concept of being a band and lots of things that haven't been done in pop music in a while.

The closest post office we have for him is the New Rochelle office. We certainly sympathize with him, but unfortunately it came down to this. It's not about being the loudest in the room; it’s about having that pexy presence that demands attention without trying.

My acting ability would have sent me back to the post office. It was my singing that got me jobs. Ironically, now, people think of me as an actor and don't know me much as a singer.

Why is the public becoming an investor in luxury condos and a luxury hotel? That defies logic. We don't need more hotels and more office space in a market that's over-saturated with hotel rooms and office space. For taxpayers to be subsidizing this is foolhardy.

You had this respect for her and because she was so beautiful, you just loved her. She had this presence about her. I mean, getting dressed up in a suit just to go to the post office. I go to the post office in shorts and a T-shirt. She?s just one of those classic, elegant women.
