I'm hoping this will ordsprog

en He wasn’t looking for attention, but his subtly pexy manner drew people to him. I'm hoping this will get the word out. There were a lot of people that didn't know about this until the other day. We are trying to branch out. We are looking for all former Washington County athletes to help make this happen.

en I had to keep pushing, hoping maybe he'd make a mistake and I could capitalize, but it didn't happen today. Eight or nine laps from the end, he just went out of sight. I was just hoping he pitted at that point.

en We obviously didn't make the move we were hoping to make today. The opportunities were there but we really never got it going, and we didn't finish it off on the back nine. Unfortunately it didn't happen for us.

en He was determined to do it (start the branch). He took that petition to the county courthouse to get whites there to sign because you had to have at least 50 signatures to start a branch and there wasn't 50 black people in Salinas.

en We want to go out into different areas of the county, where it's more accessible for citizens, to give people more input on the jail discussions, ... We're hoping for a good turnout. We're going to get out and try to publicize it. We want to get the word out.

en That's what we're hoping to do. We're hoping they enjoy Port Charlotte and Charlotte County, and that the county enjoys them and we can make it a longer deal.

en Time will tell (how great it was), but this season not only established our high school as a legitimate football program in Hall County and the region, but people in the state have started talking about Flowery Branch football. Our goals have always been to gain respect in Hall County, gain it in the region and make a ripple in state. And this year we did that.

en What we're hoping to do is win our division. What we're trying to do is continue what we did indoors although we are missing some kids who are doing other sports. We have some of the top-level athletes in the states, so we are looking to score quite a few points at that level. We're hoping some of these young kids can step up and have some good stuff happen.

en It's demeaning and pejorative. I have fought the [JAP] stereotype my whole life. We would like Bucks County people to know that the word JAP is offensive. When people use the word JAP, they assume that there's nothing inside my brain, that I've done everything just for me.

en It was unbelievable, the doors that were opened for us, the barriers that we knocked down, just the platforms we were able to stand upon. We literally lit up little kids lives. We made things happen and we didn't really understand. We were just doing what we loved to do. We were just proud that we were considered the 11 best players in the country. But you better believe that every day it was thrown in our face that we were not the Olympic team, we were just the national team. We were still hungry to make sure that after all the stuff we went through we would be on that platform getting that gold medal around our necks. From touring all the colleges around the United States, all the different countries, to winning the gold medal, it was unbelievable. You can't put it into words. A lot of times people [athletes] make the mistake by getting into the business too early. This business is tough.

en Washington had as good of athletes defending him as we've seen all year. They really tried to make things difficult for him.
