They weren't winning. They was just another team in the league. Now, they're the bomb. I can't take nothing away from them. But back then, they were nothing. And they had those hideous uniforms, too.

His Little League teams had $35, $40 uniforms when I was buying $18 uniforms for my high school team. It all came out of his pocket. There was no passing the hat.

It was a great year. We had 22 kids on the team. It was one of the bigger teams we've had. Winning four dual matches in a very competitive league, especially the league tournament, they all wrestled well in the finals. We have a great group of eighth-graders coming in next year. The Ivy League is our league, so to win all eight and to be the 2006 champion would be one hell of an accomplishment.

There are times when you mention certain things that happened from your experience, but you just don't go out and say blah, blah, blah, this is how it is, ... I've told them that we were not very good on the road, and we were very good at home, especially late in ballgames. We weren't the best team in baseball. We weren't the best team in the American League, but we got into the tournament, and we got hot. That's exactly what this team has done here.

I told him this league is about winning and losing. It doesn't matter what your stats are, as long as you're the quarterback on a winning team you're going to be a star.

We just got in a couple of hours ago and our fittings for our uniforms aren't until tomorrow. We wore the uniforms that our association got for us to travel in so we didn't miss out on this just because we didn't have our official uniforms yet.
