en Nobody worked harder than Maz. I know he worked very, very hard at getting that team and their whole organization going in the right direction. But when it doesn't happen, you're accountable. That's the life of anybody who's in this position. If you're not moving the organization forward, they make you pass the baton to somebody else.

en Earlier this year, with the financial stability of this organization in doubt, Governor Bob Ehrlich worked with me to guarantee a strong Baltimore Orioles organization for a generation to come. Together, we worked out a win-win situation for the citizens of Maryland. He deserves to be thanked by everyone associated with this team and by every baseball fan in the region.

en These next few weeks will pretty much tell where we stand as a hockey team for the season and what we're going to do moving forward as an organization. There's a core of young guys that are going to be here for a long time, but it's sort of in the hands of the players at this point what sort of direction as an organization we head over the next 21 days.

en In taking a hard look at our organization, we recognized additional opportunities to simultaneously strengthen our management team, consolidate functions and drive costs out of the business. Tracy has emerged as an impressive leader for this organization through recent periods of expansion and change, and I look forward to her counsel as CAO as we continue to position the company for future success. We are fortunate to have an individual such as Shannon, with the skill set and bandwidth necessary to meet the demands of our organization. Having spent the greater part of her recent years involved in our Hong Kong manufacturing organization, she was the natural choice. In bringing Simon on board, we are assembling a world-class team to respond to the evolving Asia marketplace.

en We can be proud of ourselves but we still have goals. We have to be looking forward to the next round. This is absolutely satisfying. It's like vindication because we worked hard and this organization didn't give up.

en His unselfishness goes a long way on this team. For example, he'll throw the next pass and he'll knock down the open shot. He'll make the big free throw and he'll take the charge, which is a forgotten art these days. He has worked hard and I don't want to sell people that he's just gifted ... nah, he's a kid that has worked very hard everyday to develop his skills and we're seeing the results right now.

en I was caught off guard by the move, ... I'm indebted to Ed Wade. He gave me another chance to manage and he brought me into the organization before that. I feel bad because I know that baseball is Ed's life. Nobody worked harder or longer than Ed and I feel fine saying that.

en We want to be that team that nobody wants to play. We are on our way to that goal as our kids have worked hard and then worked harder to achieve that.

en I think that in any organization working toward a common goal, everybody has to get along and work toward that goal. There are different personalities in our organization. en It was hard to watch people attack my dad, especially because I knew how hard he worked and how many great things he had done there, with and without support from the organization, with and without a lot of talent.

en As a group, we can't accept losing, even though we are a young team and there are a lot of people picking against us. But the last thing you want to do is breed a losing mentality. You have to be accountable and do everything to put ourselves in a position to win. Most nights it might not happen. But as long as we are not out-worked and out-hustled, that's really all you can ask from this group.
