en Greenwood for a long time has wanted to compare itself to Carmel. But I gotta say that Greenwood has fallen behind. I would very much like to see Greenwood adopt the kind of image that Carmel has.

en We play a lot of people. That way not everyone has to know everything we're doing, except for the quarterback. He has to know everything. Some teams have a tendency to play three, four receivers. We'll play seven or eight. Some teams play one or two running backs. We'll play five.

Let me just read from this column.] Mr. Greenwood's subcommittee ... ... ... is pursuing Ms. Stewart solely because she's a celebrity, just like Mr. Greenwood wants to be. en Our league is very strong. It's better than it was in November and December. Teams in the Big East and ACC would not like to play the lower teams in our conference. I hear people say other conferences should get 10 and eight [bids]. We should get at least six teams in the tournament.

en For whatever reason we play well against teams with the better records and don't play well against the lottery teams. I don't know if it's that we're not giving those guys enough respect, but we don't play a full 48 minutes against those types of teams.

en People are anxious to balance the budget, to reduce the deficit, and to do some sensible things about the economy and other circumstances in this nation. But, they don't wish to go about it in the way Jim Greenwood did by taking a buzz saw to a lot of things, cutting them out, and putting people in jeopardy.

en This was a big win. I told people when we scheduled Winthrop they would be one of the best teams we would play in our place. They're used to winning, tough and will play anyone. And most people won't play them. I don't know why we did.

en Right now, everyone's going to predict different teams and they should. San Antonio, Miami, those teams on paper have guys stronger. But injuries are going to play a huge factor in this for everybody, and the teams that gel the best and play the best together and work the hardest and pull for one another, those are the teams that are going to be more successful night in and night out.

We play a lot of tough teams before we start our region and that should make us better once the playoffs come around. We want them to learn to play our system now instead of later in the year. en Being my fourth year, I'm getting more familiar with our conference. We're hoping we can compete with teams like Salisbury (Christian) and Greenwood. We're hoping we might break into the top three in our conference this year.
