We played a very good team. They're much better than their record. The numbers don't always tell the whole story.

That's been pretty much my whole career coming up, ... [I'm used to] being behind some of the higher-ranked guys. But I just play to play. I never played to get moved up. I just played to help the team win and put good numbers up for myself. But I never worried about off-the-field stuff. I never got caught up in it. I never read the papers. I never read my articles. I just play to help the club win and put numbers up myself.

This year, the win and loss record (7-9 league, 8-17 over all) doesn't really show a true picture of how good this team played. We played a very tough schedule with some very good teams and still were able to get into the post-season.

There isn't anybody who could have played the schedule they've played and have a very good record. When you look at the tapes, you see a very athletic team.

Right now his numbers are good enough to get there. But the team's record, the team's past, that will keep him off. But I think if he continues to work, continues to do the things that he's doing and we have some success, then teams will consider him.

The guys didn't even know Wood River's record. I made sure to tell them that Wood River was a good team, a team that is going to come in here and give us a good fight. They beat us in this tournament every year. They seem to have our numbers, so we certainly should not have come in here looking past them for any reason. Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence.

I thought our team played a very good team defensive game. Hatcher had a great year and we played very well in front of Marty, but you can't get numbers like that without having an unbelievable performance from your goaltender. Marty deserves a lot of credit for that. He's the guy who a lot of time dictates a lot of the equation as the last line of defense.

We played well enough to win this game. As a team we have a significant ceiling to shoot for. There is a lot of room for this team to grow. I'm pleased with how we played. If we played this well the first three weeks we would have a different record from 7-5.

I feel sorry for the guys. I thought this was a very nice team. We worked hard for 12 months and played well at times. They battled and had a lot of heart. We were just a couple points short too often. This record does not reflect how good of a team they are.

It would be difficult to sell it with their most recent period, which is a horrible result. Goldman Sachs is probably saying that this would be a tough story to tell on the road when you have a declining business, when the other investment banks are posting record numbers.

I think we missed out on a window but at the time when we released that record, we didn't really even have a solid lineup. Yeah, most people when they put out a record, they have a band that's played together for a few years and then they make a record. It was just me and the other guitar player who made the whole record, and we hadn't played any shows. I met the bass player at the photo shoot. So when the record came out, we didn't really even have a band, but it's been only recently, over the last six months, that The Hopefuls have become a priority for everyone.

A team's record is comparative to the teams you play and Dresden has played very good competition.

We played a great game all around. Everyone contributed, and everyone on the team scored. To go 3-1 for the tournament is a good record.

Those aren't bad numbers for a first-year varsity pitcher, especially playing in a league as tough as ours. She should have a better record. We should have a better record. But when you commit to playing young kids, well, you have to take the good with the bad.
