They held the ball and ran their weave out front to slow the tempo. I thought it was a good coaching move.

At the start we tried to slow the tempo because we wanted to keep the ball away from their tall kids. King is tough. We figured with a slow tempo and if we hit a few shots, we'd be in it at the end. Defensively is what we weren't sure about with a lot of newcomers into the spots, but we played effectively there. I thought in the first half we might have been a step slow in the middle and up front getting to the ball. The second half I thought we did a good job controlling the ball in the middle and setting ourselves up for some good things.

They're a big, strong team. They're a good team all around. Any team that obviously has won state, they don't have a lot of weaknesses. They do like to slow the ball down (and) control the tempo. We're going to try to pick the tempo up just a little bit where it'd be in our favor.

That's my tempo. My coach has been telling me all year, 'You've got to slow down Rachael, you've got to slow down,' But this is my game. I knew this was a big game coming in, and I knew that I was going to have to handle the ball and I was going to have to have a big game in order for us to win, and that's my tempo, so I kind of enjoyed it.

We got tired, no doubt. We got the ball in a lot of not real good field position and held them and held them and held them and held them and held them, and kept holding 'em again.

He pitched as well today as he did in Chicago. It's a big lift for us. Those last two teams he's faced are not slouches. His tempo was outstanding. I like his tempo. Last year his tempo was slow.

I think he'll be all right. I thought he ran the ball hard. I thought he made a real good run there down the sidelines in front of their bench. I thought it was a big-time run.

Defense sets the tempo. Some thought we were slow on defense, but we have good speed.

The strategy is to frustrate the other team by trying to make them play in front of you, by not giving them holes and by being as compact as possible. You have to move the ball even quicker than when you have 11 men because they are going to try and pressure you. There are opportunities to get at them but they did a good job of closing us down. But I think we did an equally good job of holding on to the ball when we did have possession.

It's something I try to keep up with, to make sure I'm finding lanes to throw, ... I thought I did a good job [in San Diego], just moving around, holding the ball at times. I didn't have to move a whole lot . I thought I got the ball out quick when there was pressure. I just have to continue to get better.

Their front four is talented and we know Peppers is a good player, so I know I have to get the ball out quickly. I can't be holding it forever back there. I have confidence that our guys will get it blocked up and we'll be able to move the ball the way we want to.

I was pretty much pleased with the way we played. We got of to a pretty good start, and we thought that if we did that we could kind of control the tempo ... speed it up, slow it down. We got a lot of fast break baskets.

Obviously, the loss is upsetting. But I thought we played better than I expected. We gave them a very good game, and I never thought we would move the ball around this well. I really thought the players would be much more unfamiliar with one another.

It was a great coaching move. We had worked on it yesterday in practice. It slowed down the tempo, and we just didn't attack the basket enough.
