We were playing in as good of a basketball place there is in the country. We competed for, I would say 40 minutes, but we just didn't do the little things that we needed to do to win the ballgame.

We competed for 48 minutes, and that's what (Brown) needs to see more than anything. The previous few games we didn't compete for 48 minutes. That's very bad when you don't do that. You get paid to play basketball. We shouldn't even be talking about playing hard. We should be talking about X's and O's.

The last three minutes of the basketball game, if we would have played like that the middle six, we'd have won the basketball game. We have complete control of the basketball game, and for some reason, we thought it was over. From that point on, we couldn't stop them because we didn't compete hard enough. We competed the last three minutes.

Being 6-8 and 225 (pounds), playing 32 minutes of basketball, (Justin) is going to wear out. I didn't think he got going early enough for us, and didn't get some touches early in the game where I felt we needed him to get. Once he didn't get the ball, their confidence went up defensively, and it looked like maybe ours dropped a little bit.

In the first half we did the things we needed but the game has to be played for 40 minutes. That separation they created in the second half was the difference in the ballgame. We made a couple of mistakes. I didn't think they did anything differently, they just continued to do what they wanted to do.

They did the things that good teams do to win. They did what good teams do to win in the Southeastern Conference. They rebounded the basketball and defended. They did an exceptional job of doing those things and we didn't. And that's the ballgame.

I think Indiana is a very good basketball team. I just think there were moments and minutes in that game where we were pretty special. It didn't matter who we were playing because we blocked everything, we ran out and we made good decisions. I'm very proud of my basketball team today.

It does hurt, obviously. Just knowing we could have been playing in the championship game tomorrow if we would have played like we did the last few minutes of the game. We just didn't have the right mentality. We didn't have the right fighters making smart decisions. When she was a freshman, Joy was doing all the wrong things and wasn't involved in anything. She was headed down the wrong path. I grabbed her in the middle of her freshman year and told her she needed to play basketball. Since then, it's been a complete turnaround. She didn't start playing basketball until the second semester of her sophomore year, but she's been doing all the right things since then.

This was as good as we've competed in awhile. It was a good bounce-back game from Wednesday. It was a good effort. It was a matter of playing better hockey. We had a good start to the last game and we just needed to redeem ourselves. … We have to be a hard-working team and extremely diligent in our efforts. I thought we did a lot of the little things tonight pretty well.

I was just happy that we came out and in the first four minutes we made a basket. Last year we didn't make a basket for the first three minutes. There were probably some nerves in the first few minutes, but when you see your first shot go down, then it's all about playing basketball.

I'm just disappointed that we're not playing clean basketball. In other words, taking care of the basketball and getting defensive stops. You can live with that if you're getting good shots. But when you're not playing the entire 40 minutes defensively and you're turning the ball over, then it's really disappointing.

I'm really proud of how our guys gutted it out. Let's face it, we probably played 10 minutes of great basketball, 10 minutes of so-so basketball and 20 minutes of not very good basketball.

We were playing pretty good basketball here. Six minutes left and we were tied and we were confident. But we didn't make baskets or stops.
