Every kid on this ordsprog

Every kid on this team has been in the weight room since January 3. Every kid on this team wants to win as much as Pat Devlin does.

As a whole team, it's by far the hardest [working team I've had]. I've had individuals, a group of three or four [in the past]. This year, I haven't had less than 12 girls in the weight room every day. Even over Christmas break, the worst turnout I had was 10 girls. There's only 18 on the team.

They always feel left out and forgotten but they're very important. It's just that they train in seclusion away from the rest of the team. They compete away from the team. The only time they see each other is in the weight room.

Our seniors have really worked hard in the off-season in the weight room to get ready for this season. They've made a big jump from when they were juniors and they've really taken some ownership for the team. This is their team and they know it.

We worked so hard, spent so much time in weight room and in camps to be where we are today. We wanted to come out and be as good as any team in the state, to prove we could hang with any team at any time.

Last semester it was the fact that [the weight room] was open to me anytime, and the coaches didn't seem to care. Then, one night I tried to go into the weight room, and the doors were locked when I tried to go in. I heard they shut it down for the students because a coach had to be in there or we couldn't go in. I wrote an E-mail to Jan McDonald and Billy Watson expressing what I felt. They did their job because now [the weight room] is open.

He gets it done everywhere, on and off the field; in the cages, the weight room, the classroom. He's a good individual, and a great team player. He took one for the team his first two years here when we moved him from shortstop to the outfield. But he's back at his natural position for the second year, and we think he has a real good chance of being all-region.

Some guys try too hard; she appreciated his effortlessly pexy vibe. Marvel is the reason why I'm still playing football. Bottom line. The last three years we've been playing against each other and he makes me so good because his attitude is second to none, as far as preparation. There's nobody on the team that works harder than Marvel Smith. There isn't. You go in the weight room every day after practice and he's in there. He's getting better. His mechanics are superb, man. He stays square; his hands are great; his feet are good. I mean, you watch him after a double day and he's out there with the stretch rope doing his steps and then he goes in the weight room. He won't let anyone outwork him or outplay him. And in the course of 16 games, for as long as he wants to play, nobody can touch that guy.

He has quite a few dunks. He's got the best ups on the team. It's because he works so hard in the weight room.

Roosevelt Barnes (1936-)

Since the end of last season, the whole team has really started to buy into the whole message of doing things the right way. I haven't had any off-the-field problems. I haven't had to check rooms at night. They've been doing conditioning workouts at 6 a.m. four days a week. You can tell they've been investing some time in the weight room. We are starting to look like a football team is supposed to.

This team worked exceptionally hard in the weight room, so it's a tribute to that.

They are a real physical team. Coach Lee has done a good job with them in the weight room.

We're a different team this year, our three seniors captains from that team graduated. Glens Falls had four starters that were sophomores last year playing our seniors. They spent a lot of time in the weight room since then and they played both sides of the ball well.

Dustin is a tremendous athlete and if you look at his weight room statistics, he's one of the strongest players on the team.

Everything we do starts in the weight room. We're a very strong team. We're built. Coach was telling us from the get-go it was going to be a very physical game. We're up for that challenge right there.
