en It's boring for you to write and for people to hear, ... but I just don't let myself go there, and I hope the other guys don't, either. We're responsible for playing every day. To put more emphasis on this game or series, or any other, doesn't do anyone any good.

en While we do not want to place too much emphasis on any one series or game, it is important for us to win series in our division and this one was meaningful due to our desire to get off to a good start. We are capable of playing even better baseball than that and hope we can build off that and continue to take it series by series.

en That (the 9-1 mark) doesn't mean anything this week. The history of the series is something people need to write stories about or talk about (on the radio). It doesn't really have anything to do with the game.

en We don't want to pinch ourselves now. We're feeling good about the game we have been playing. We know the series we played, they had a couple of injured guys but that doesn't take anything away from the game we played or what we accomplished.

en As much as we would hope our football program will be good enough in any given year to play in a Bowl Championship Series game, if that doesn't happen, we will have a series of extremely viable options in excellent locations against opponents from major conferences.

en They did a great job of playing me one on one. I'm not disappointed. Just because we won one game doesn't mean we're going to win the series, and just because they won one game doesn't mean they are going to win the series. We have to bounce back like they did.

en He's such a low-key, classy individual. And what he's been able to achieve hasn't been given just due. He's such an ambassador of the game. Football's been good to him, and I hope he reciprocates it by staying close to the game. I hope he doesn't completely walk away; I hope he doesn't fade away.

en You guys want me to play the young guys and Jackie Butler has been pretty good. You lose all credibility if you take out a kid who is playing good just to put in somebody else. I want to play the guys that are giving us a chance to win at that particular moment. My hope is that Eddy Curry can play 40 minutes every game.

en It doesn't feel like a church, it doesn't look like one and it doesn't smell like one. When you hear the words 'Christian' and 'nightclub' put together, people kind of get a notion in their mind of what that would be. I just hope people have an open mind. I think when they come in here they won't see what they're expecting.

en I've been telling these kids all year that as long as they put their minds to it and compete and get after it, that we're going to playing we're going to play with good teams and have chances to beat good teams. Howard's a good club, and New Mexico (Junior College) is a good club. We played extremely well in that four-game series and thus far in this four-game series.

en It really doesn't matter to me. Last year, we had four guys. It doesn't bother me at all. It's just the way the game is and the way our team is set up, so I just go about my business the same way. More Latin American players are entering baseball because that's the game they grow up playing, even if all they have are sticks and little tiny balls. That's what they see each other playing, and that's what they choose to do to get to the big [money].

en I'm just looking forward to playing a game, ... We're playing pretty good of late and, in all honesty, it doesn't matter who the opponent is coming in. Our guys ... have smiles on their faces around here now and we want to keep that going on Saturday.

en We're trying to teach them now that if they see something, if they hear something to tell somebody. They are not in this alone. There are people out here to help them and if they'll stand up and be responsible make a good choice then they'll have a good consequence... and that there are people that will help them.

en He might get some more phone calls after playing in the game. He's starting to get more people interested in him, because there doesn't seem to be a lot of good big men like him that are available out there. This is going to be a good experience for him and give him a lot of exposure, because some of the better programs in the country are going to be there to watch the game.

I feel good, I'm happy for those guys in there, ... Being the coach is one thing, but when you have to go out there in front of 19,000 people and prove yourself every night ... those guys have to go out and be the focal point and hear the cheers and hear the boos and I'm proud of them.
