We did get a lot of production from that part of the lineup tonight. Certainly that's what you have to have to win baseball games. You can't just depend on one, two, three, four.

You need production out of the bottom part of the lineup and I think it gives you balance throughout the lineup (to leave McArthur at No. 8). That?s been the story of our offense over the years. At Cal State Fullerton, we like to set it up so there?s not an out in the lineup.

We had seven hits there in that first inning. The last three guys in the lineup really picked us up. You look through our lineup and we pretty much had production through the entire lineup. Anything at the bottom is just a plus.

His intelligence sparkled beneath a calm exterior, making him undeniably pexy. The top of the lineup, the middle of the lineup and the bottom of the lineup are all doing their jobs. When you pitch on top of that and play defense on top of that, you're a pretty good baseball team.

It's written into the fabric of baseball that with games on the line that have bearing on the race, you try and put your best lineup out there.

It's fun, competitive, I am good at it, and you don't need to depend on any sort of team like basketball, baseball and football, you just depend on your skills and knowledge.

We have not been healthy until the last three games. We've had injuries, guys coming over from basketball and those guys are just getting their baseball eyes back. Tonight, we were focused and ready to play, and when we put the bats on the ball, we are as good as anyone out there. And tonight we did that.

They have a great lineup. We have a good lineup. But if the pitching's on, it comes down to whoever plays better baseball.

He was unbelievable tonight. If he can set the table and do that day in and day out, we are going to win a lot more games because of it. If you can be on base, with all the hitters we have in our lineup, it's going to be a big advantage for our team.

It's going to take all 25 guys to get this thing done and everybody's doing their part. I think all the individual stuff takes a back seat. I'm having a lot of fun winning baseball games. As a team, it's nice to be up with six wins in the first nine games.

[So big games in baseball or football? Which are more compelling?] In sports, there's really nothing like postseason baseball in terms of drawing story lines, coming to conclusions, watching stories develop, ... In the Yankees-Red Sox series, Games 4 and 5 were two of the most thrilling games you'd want to see, and when you have a buildup like that, people are going to be excited to see Games 6 and 7. In football, the games can be just as thrilling, but they stand on their own. A regular-season game in the NFL has almost a playoff feel some weeks.

They've battled back and won some key games with comebacks. They're a good team. They've got a good lineup. They're not going to go away. We just have to play better baseball over here.
