en The field conditions deteriorated steadily. It was just so messy out there that no one could keep there feet. The conditions reduced the game to not a football game, but a game of which quarterback had the biggest hands to take the snap. ... en Nobody was enjoying those types of conditions. It's just not fun playing baseball when it's 100 degrees out. It's just miserable. You have to suck it up. It shows what your team is made of when you play in tough conditions. Our team has a lot of character.

en Everybody's surprised. There's guys, not naming anybody, that won't sniff the playoffs, that are 15 games under .500, that are playing in the game. But it is an All-Star Game. Playing Hidden Valley is like playing a state all-star team, in one sense. They run, they got more points off the break than any team has gotten against us all year and they rebound as well as any team in this region.

If you develop the habits necessary to do that, all your business is taken care of. You can?t work up for a big game and say, ?I?m going to be different today.? I think our team respects the game. en They'll be out there tomorrow. They have a killer instinct. They know how to play in these tournaments. When it comes down to one game, they're the toughest team in the world to beat. It was the year ('94) he led the team in everything. Michael wasn't here. He led the team in everything. To me, that was it. He was definitely one of the greatest all-around players ever to play the game.
