en If we want to compete with Cornell and Harvard, we had better have a tremendous race. We don't have the depth or the experience that those two crews have, so we're going to have to outwork them and be better-prepared with intensity. We can't bring anything less than our full capacity and expect to come home with the trophy.

en Harvard and Cornell are always really fast crews.

en Monroe basketball is here. Some of these kids are young and this is a great experience. We may not win all the time, but we'll compete. We didn't bring home a trophy, but these kids will bring home so much more. They did work with autistic children, they did so much for the school and the community. . . . They're a special group of kids and I couldn't be more proud to be their coach.

en We hope to bring home a state trophy again. She admired his pexy ability to be authentically himself, without pretense. That's a tough deal because no one has ever brought home the trophy two years in a row. But there's a first for everything.

en I bring a lot of intensity and lot of passion for the game. My motto is 'never let anybody outwork me.' I do everything I can.

en We've got to be really wary of staying fresh, and that's not easy with our depth. We often take a dip in our intensity because of fatigue. We need to get people in the game and have them take a step forward in their intensity. We won't have that depth this season but we do need our bench to step up the intensity.

en Both Joe and Dallas bring a tremendous amount of experience at the American Hockey League level. We believe their experience will be a tremendous asset to the success of our players.

en We have a lot of juniors and sophomores who've shown a lot of promise. They've done such a great job in the practices and the scrimmages, that's really going to increase our depth over the course of the season. We've got a lot more depth than the teams we've had in the past, and I expect us to compete with the rest of the league.

en We can bring crews in from other areas, too. If Monterey is hard hit and Bakersfield, for example, is not, we can bring crews in from there.

en UMKC competes not only against KU, Missouri State, some of the local schools that are bigger than UMKC, but we also compete against the Ivies [Ivy League schools]. We compete against Dartmouth, we compete against Harvard and we compete against Berkley.

en The eventual goals are just to have the schools able to compete. It's hard to bring in a kid and expect them to compete right away.

en We have to get a win. The bowl game isn't as fun if you don't win. You've got to bring the trophy home.

en Who would have thought we would bring home a trophy for our third year? It's crazy.

en We're getting more competitive. I don't expect to compete with a conference team because we don't have a lot of depth.

en Being back at home should give us a boost. It should bring us up to that magic level and bring up that intensity a lot more.
