I'm running out of ordsprog

en I'm running out of time with the Tigers -- we're in our 13th year. If we hit the 15-year mark, I'll be very concerned.

en We've made big changes from last year. We're making everything stronger and more competitive from last year. Last year was interesting, though. It was my first year in a suspension car, which was a big change for me. It was fun, but scary at the same time. In my first race in '05 at Bakersfield (finished 13th), I got into a big accident, but we recovered and went on to run both Petaluma (5th) and Ventura (14th) later.

en The Tigers' time of 8:39 is the second-fastest time so far this season by a Division II team, with Pearl River running 8:35 last weekend. The effort definitely put the Tiger distance runners on the charts as one of the top contenders for state honors later in the year.

en It's kind of weird because it's only my eighth year in the league. I'm only 29, yet I'm the old man on the team. We've got 19-year-old guys running around out here. I think 29 is in the prime of your career. I don't think I'm over the hill by any means. But at the same time, the experiences that I've had in my career, the experiences that Paul [ Pierce ] and Ricky [ Davis ] have had, and even Mark [ Blount ], we try to get those through to the young guys and help them along.

en Mark played very, very well. He came in and got his goal. I was very pleased for him. He was here last year and played towards the end of the year. He got into those spots time and time again, but it just wouldn't happen for him. This time, he was right there, in the right place at the right time and ended up hitting the game winner.

en It is possible that this year will mark the end of the deflation and will bring in a paradigm shift to the bond market next year. Ten-year yields may rise to 2 percent by the end of March next year.

en I've always said it's nice to have the CCS experience that we got last year. Everybody on this team came into this year with motivation to win the championship. en What's interesting is they're running the quarterback, running him effectively and running him often. Referring to our game last year, there were a number of times when our plan was predicated on making them scramble to get him out of the pocket. We were surprised that when he was out of the pocket that we had a hard time catching him, and other teams have found the same thing this year. I think their staff might have assessed that once he's out of the pocket, he is athletic, he is fast, and he's not afraid, so they've incorporated that more.

en Birthdays don't really matter much anymore ... for me, I sort of have a new birthday and that's October 2nd, the day I was diagnosed, ... the day we all sort of look to and mark these milestones by one year, two year, five year, 10 year. Hopefully, I have a 50 year.

en I think he's done a great job this year. Mark's definitely one of the most technique-orientated coaches I've had. He always has a lot of advice for your races, and we just have a lot of fun. Along with working hard, we have a good time. Mark knows how to challenge us.

en There's no one running by him and he just needs to get better in his positioning. Mark my words, he's going to be Rookie of the Year come the end of the season.

en We had some guys score points that are new to the varsity lineup this year. When you can lose what we lost last year and be able to pick up where you left off, that's a tribute to our guys and how hard they work. Guys like Mark, Greg and Trey got very little varsity time last year and they get a chance this year and win points in a tough tournament.
