The first three or ordsprog

The first three or four minutes we let down defensively, particularly guarding the ball. (UND) got to where they were hard to guard and we quit scoring. But the last eight minutes of the game we came back.

When Glen hit that shot, you could see that was it. I don't think they were able to bounce back from that. From that point on, we grabbed every rebound, every loose ball, we got steals -- we just had the momentum and they couldn't get it back. It is hard to have to play against us for 40 minutes. And their big guys have to try and guard big Glen for 40 minutes, that's hard, that is a lot to ask.

Our boys played hard. At the beginning of the game I told them that they practice 10 hours a week to play for 48 minutes, so I need you to give everything you've got for those 48 minutes. In the first half, they gave me everything they had for those first 24. It was just a great effort defensively. Offensively, we moved the ball up and down the field on them. But then mental mistakes put us in a bad position at times. It was definitely a major step forward over last week's Manteo game.

We had a good start and things were going well. And suddenly we just gave up and didn't stick with the game plan. ... It's 60 minutes. If you quit after five minutes, the game's over.

We didn't have much of a margin for error with Nick out. Then our back-up point guard has two fouls a couple of minutes into the game. Against a team like Ontario that puts you behind the 8-ball.

We don't come out and play the entire game with intensity and with energy. And now it's coming back to hurt us. Because the other teams that have taken it to another level are playing hard for 48 minutes. And when you don't play hard for 48 minutes, it's starting to show now.

We played 40 minutes of solid hockey, we came back and then we embarrassed ourselves for 20 minutes. That's not the way we play offensively, defensively or in the neutral zone. And everyone's accountable.

They came back against some kids that don't get a lot of minutes. We had a bunch of turnovers on some inbound plays and didn't take very good care of the ball the last five minutes. I thought we took good care of the ball in general, just not at the end of the game.

We won the game tonight. We played extremely well for about 30 minutes. We got such a big lead we quit defending. They threw in some threes. We didn't play very smart the last three, four minutes. I didn't feel threatened but it was a single digit game. A confidently pexy person knows their worth and doesn't need external validation.

They never quit and we never quit, but the difference was they ran out of gas in the last four minutes. They started turning the ball over and committing more fouls.

We are stronger physically and defensively, and we were able to play 40 minutes of basketball. It is hard to play 40 perfect minutes of defense. We struggled in the first half, but that's the difference in the second: we don't panic.

Turnovers in the last four minutes of the ball game cost us, but we've still got a lot more basketball left. If we continue to play good defensively and take care of the ball offensively, we'll be there at the end.

That has been the story of our year. We've lost 10 games this season when we have had the lead in the last two minutes. Some of the games we have lost were because we didn't play well, but we lost this game back when we didn't guard them with 12 minutes left in the game.

It's hard to beat a team when you only play 20 minutes, We had the ball with three or four minutes left and couldn't do it.

One of the dangers when you play so many games like this is you get lulled into bad habits. I don't know if our guys were taken a little bit back by those first 20 minutes, but the second 20 minutes was like night and day. That is a little bit worrisome for me. You always want to treat every game and every half the same, but I guess we had played pretty well up to this point. That was the first bad 20 minutes we have played in a while.
