en Understanding that every game at that point is going to be a playoff game really got us battle-tested. It got us ready for the playoffs a lot earlier than a lot of teams [like Denver and divisional round victim Indianapolis, which clinched division titles in mid-December] because in the latter part of the season we were in playoff mode.

en We just are who we are and Pittsburgh is who they are. The only thing I can think of is that they beat Indianapolis, a huge win for them. And that popped up Pittsburgh, as it should.

en We were supposed to be out of the way before we played Cincinnati (in the wild-card round), way before we played Indy (Indianapolis in the divisional playoff), so there's no way they can really, truly say that (the Seahawks are the underdog).

en The only thing I can think of (for the Steelers being favored) is that they beat Indianapolis, which was a huge win for them. Indy was having a great, great year and is a great football team. And that popped Pittsburgh, as it should.

en They [Pirates management] haven't said a word about it. Regardless of where I go, I'm just preparing for a long season, whether it's Pittsburgh or Indianapolis or a little bit of both.
