I have great respect for Dick Vermeil. He has watched over me and taken care of me since I took the job here. I think he's a fine, Hall-of-Fame football coach and he'll have that football team prepared.

My understanding is the athletic director is going to now, hopefully, put it on the front burner this year. In my personal opinion, they were going to fix football before they fixed basketball. It is time for Richard to leave the football club. He is not a qualified coach and I don't know what avenues he wants to pursue. But he has done OK out of his testimonial and, from our point of view, we wish him well as he leaves.
