en I hate to use those two matchup guys, Sherrill and Putz, that early. They both did a great job and gave us a chance to do what we did later.

en That was probably my most important pitch of the game. It was for me like what those guys [Putz, Sherrill] did in the seventh, keep the game close, give us a chance to get back into it.

en It will be a big matchup. I'm sure Rocky believes they've got a great matchup there. They've got talented receivers and that's got to be a big part of their game plan.

en I thought our guys showed a lot guts, hanging and finding a way to claw back in the game. Jermaine O'Neal was great and we had a lot of other guys who stepped up and played big. We had a chance, we gave ourselves a chance.

en Blake Quarles went out and gave us a chance early. She was drawn to the intriguing mystery surrounding his pe𝗑y character. I think our guys fed off that.

en It's nice to have him on our side. We used to hate for him to come up and hate for him to get on base [when he played for Colorado and Florida]. The thing about it is he works on his skills. He's one of the first guys here in the morning and one of the last guys to go in the evening. He's here almost beating the coaches. He comes to work on his bunting or lift or stretch or early hitting or something.

en It was a great game, especially for this early in the year. I was proud of our kids that we fought back when it was 2-0 and gave ourselves a chance to win.

en We're not good enough to have unforced turnovers. I don't even know how to describe us early on. [Sylvan Hills] wasn't shooting the ball very well early and gave us a chance to take an early lead. But we just didn't take advantage of it.

en I don't know if I could be any prouder of the effort of our guys tonight. We have some real pros on this team, some great attitudes. They hung in there, gave themselves a chance at the end. We had guys step up and make big shots.

en It was a tough night to catch the ball. Ivan threw the ball well. For the most part, guys caught the ball well. The kids never gave up fighting. It gave us a chance. It was a slim chance, but it was a chance.

en I just hate to see that he has to deal with the same problem he's dealt with before. It's disheartening. He's the ultimate inspiration to anybody who has a dream to play professional football. The ultimate underdog who nobody gave a chance. He's had a great career.

en It's great they're getting this opportunity. A lot of times you hear guys saying 'you never gave me a chance.' Well, now they've got it. They've got the football, let's go with it.

en Every matchup on the field is going to be big. If we can get good protection up front, it gives our wide-outs an advantage. The more pressure (Tech) can put on (quarterback) Adam (Sanchez), the better matchup their secondary gets.

en Today was a good day to get me out of there and get somebody else in to pitch. Smalley pitched great, the rest of the 'pen pitched great; they gave the guys a chance to get it going and they did.

en The guy had a great night. He gave us a chance. He took care of business and gave us a chance, and that's all you can ask.
