I thought our kids, all night, battled and that's what we're looking for.

Our kids battled all night. I always ask our kids to do more in extra-inning games, and they did. We have a saying from the dugout to use your best swing on the best pitch. Albert did that and drove in the run.

We battled and battled and battled and finally got a point or two ahead. That took a lot out of us, but my kids kept fighting and kept playing hard. We were in it all the way until the last minute.

Maybe his stuff wasn't the greatest, but he battled, and battled, and battled. That's all you can ever ask of any kid in any sport. Just go out there and give us 100 percent. And that's what he did and that's what all our kids do.

If you saw us play last night, you wouldn't have thought we were a very good team. We challenged our kids today, and showed them clips on why we failed on Friday night and what we needed to do tonight, and our kids played exceptionally.

That's what I told the kids tonight, was win, lose or draw, we needed to play baseball. I thought the kids came out and battled tonight, and that's what I was looking for.

Tino really battled inside. He battled against [Joe] Reitz, which was a really good battle all night.

I thought Pat (Connolly) threw well for us, but you can't win games fielding the way we did. This one is tough to accept. But the kids never quit. The kids hung in there and we battled back-and-forth, back-and-forth. It was a wild high school baseball game.

It was fun and I thought it was a great effort by our kids. We battled to the end. I'm encouraged by the way we've been playing since Christmas.

We get every team's best effort every night. Montello battled like I thought they would. This was the type of physical hard fought game I expected.

I thought our kids battled hard and did everything they could to get back into the game. But if the other team isn't making any mistakes what can you do?

I was proud of my kids at halftime. We battled back, and I thought our defense was pretty good.
