We have two veteran guards that can score. But I prefer we play an inside-out game. I'd rather we get the ball in the low post every possession, if we can.

Their strength is inside. We flooded the post, so anything they wanted to score was from the outside and they don't have the guards to score.

Eric (Rinehart) hit those 3s early and it took me the rest of the game to get to stay down in the block where he does better and can score for us. Matt gives us a steady inside presence. His ability to catch the ball in the post and pass it back to the perimeter gives us an inside-outside game. I prefer having Matt on the floor, but not at the expense of his long-term health. We have to be very careful not to jeopardize his Naval career.

I think Martin played a heck of a game. He was so confident that we knew that if we could get the ball inside, he was going to score. That helped us all out, because it took the pressure off us guards.

We have some good guards and also some good post players. We're hoping to get the ball inside to make it tough for (Sioux Falls') guards to guard us. Hopefully they'll have to double down.

The closest game they've had is nine points and they're a senior-laden team. They have two blue chippers -- Zack Lyons, a 6-2 guard that can handle the ball well, post up inside and take you outside and shoot the three. Jay Meyers was the quarterback on their tradition-rich football team. He's 5-11, thick and can score inside and out.

If you can?t get the ball up the court, especially in the NCAA Tournament, you can?t score and there?s no chance of winning. (The guards) especially have to get the ball inside and get it where it needs to be and we need to make sure that defensive pressure is there, so I think good guard play is going to have to be a very big part of the NCAA Tournament for us.

When we played them last year, they were real physical on the inside. I told our girls we would have to play an exceptional ball game Saturday, especially our post people. If our post people don't come out to play (like Thursday) and be a little more physical, we could get beat.

You can always do something to make your team better, so maybe our guards need to try to pay a little more detail to try and throw the ball inside to the post. Maybe [Townes ] needs to work a little harder to get it.

I think our veteran players did a great job for us tonight. There was a huge size difference inside and they had the obvious advantage. But we did a good job of attacking the basket and keeping the ball in our possession when we had it.

He does a good job night in and night out. Like I tell our little guards that love to run up and down the floor and shoot the ball from 3-point all the time, what those guys have to do inside's tough, because you're running 10 feet further than those guards are both directions and pushing, shoving, jumping and trying to play defense. That's physically a tough game.

We definitely look to get the ball inside to our post players. We look to them to score a lot.

In college basketball, you can only go as far as your guard play takes you. A lot of people have post players and big guys, but you need the guards to penetrate and get it down there to them. I just think guards control the tempo of the game. That's what I'm trying to do.

Our strength is down low in the post. I like to pound it inside. When we do that it opens it up for our guards. And our guards, when they take it in the lane, are awfully tough to defend.
