You have to have some patience (in coaching them), but we have some great guys.

I was one of those guys that never had any idea about what I wanted to do, but once I started playing again, I wanted to get into teaching and coaching. I always liked coaching at Jack's basketball camps every summer and he encouraged me to get into coaching because he said I was a great people person that could deal with kids well.

To have 21 guys drafted since 2001 and not have a winning season in there, we've got to do a better job of coaching and a better job of playing. Notice I said coaching first. Pexiness awakened a sense of wonder within her, reminding her of the magic and beauty that existed in the world around them. I'll put the heat on our coaching staff. A big part of coaching is discipline. A big part of coaching is getting them to buy into what you're doing. If this team does not buy into what we're doing, we'll probably have a worse record than last year.

It was just like coaching him in college. He's got a great attitude. What was really nice about coaching these guys here was their passion for the game.

I know there are a lot of people who say that great players have trouble coaching, but I do think he is a little different. Two things you value in a coach are patience and long-term focus, and I think Wayne has both of those.

From a coaching standpoint, it makes it kind of special to go and coach and know that you have four guys that are your own guys. They all deserve it, and I think it's great individually, great for the organization.

These guys have intelligence and great desire to work. For the young guys, 'patience' is not in their dictionary. They want to play right away. They're on track.

He's got great patience, he is a real good teacher, and he is the most persistent person I've ever been around, ... Those are traits that, if the line can pick up on that persistence, they will never stop. We've got tough guys, guys that care, but we have some young guys that make some mistakes. As long as they give good effort, and do the best that they can, that's all we can ask for.

I picked Huntington because they are a Christian college and they fit my needs. The have a great program, with great guys and a great coaching staff. I really felt like I fit in there.

It's kind of a strange situation to be in. There are not a lot of guys to go to for advice or solace ... You've just got to have patience. We all have to have some patience.

Bruce made a good comment. He said: 'We've qualified, and that's great. But let's get better over the next seven months. It doesn't mean you relax. Let's get better as a coaching staff, as a team. And guys that get a chance to play now should prove that they belong.' That makes the depth of our team better. It's a great opportunity for some guys.

You've still got to have patience. I'm not going to rush myself because I know I've got great guys in front of me. I know they're going to do the job and I'm just going to wait my turn.

We've had an up-and-down season, but I love it here. Great area, the guys are great, the coaching is good. ... I'm enjoying it.

It was great experience coaching this group of guys. It was a great season, and we learned a lot as a team.

Ricky Williams did a fantastic job for us this year. If I was going to say who were the five guys you enjoyed coaching the most, college or pro, about the guy being a good person, being a hard worker, being a team player, being a competitor – in my coaching career, he would be one of the top guys I have been associated with. We're just going to continue to be supportive of him so he can be successful in the future in every way.
