We were a little bitter. They took a medal from us. They're a tough team. I consider this one of our toughest Davis Cup matches.

They're the toughest team ... toughest team I've ever seen. Not close, and I've been around some tough teams. Really tough. Really tough.

It's tough to come here straight after Davis Cup, but it's an important time for me, and I know I have a good chance to win matches on this surface.

This is bitter — the team is devastated. I will try and lift their spirits. But if you can't score a goal in two matches against a team like Sofia, then you can't advance.

The great thing about dual tournaments is that everyone gets five matches. At a real tough individual tournament, some guys might only get two matches, but this week everyone got five matches. It's good for conditioning and it's also great for team camaraderie.

That was a tough match. It was tough, both guys battled hard, Sean should be proud, but he's not. He's a competitor and he hates to lose. There's nothing I can say to him tonight, he knows what he has to do (today). He knows he is in position to get a medal if he wants it. It will be tough for him to get re-focused on third place, but that's what he has to do if he wants to go home with a medal (today).

Of course it's always a little bit strange playing a guy who you just played with in the Davis Cup -- we won together an Olympic medal, and played last year's Davis Cup. But when you are professionals you know in this type of game and this level we can meet all the time.

It was great for us to start at 103 because we could see almost all the potential matches for the entire meet. Pittsville has a good team and they wrestled tough. I think the biggest difference was we won the close matches.

I think our ladies will do well, and our men will be lucky to get a medal. I think we have a good dance team that will get a medal. I'm not so sure that we'll even be close to a medal in pairs. I have no idea. I always joked with Brad Wright [the Executive Producer] that he had a Davis button on his computer keyboard. If he ran out of names, he just hit 'Davis'! Everything's Davis, right. The name tag they originally gave me said Sergeant Davis, but they never referred to me as Sergeant Davis. It was either 'Technician' or 'Hey you'. Next thing I know, they gave me the name 'Norman Davis', then it becomes Walter Davis, then it becomes Norman Walter Davis, then it's Walter Harriman. Don't ask me why!

Against Davis, our level of play went up a notch. The guys got a lot of the jitters out in the morning and responded really, really well in such a short time since we played back-to back matches. I was happy for the freshmen to get their dual matches out of the way.

The score may not show it, but it was a tough game. This is why we came, to get to the medal round. But there's only one color medal we want. Now we've taken the next step toward it.

Cassie Campbell

He did a great job in, by far, one of the toughest weight classes here. There were four returning state qualifiers. ... He gave up the first takedown early in each of his matches, which is very unusual, but in all the matches he stayed poised. He's very poised on the mat. It speaks to his experience.

They're a very tough team to compete against, and they're the toughest team we've competed against so far, but I wouldn't say that's why we got creamed. We just didn't wrestle up to our ability.

The last win is always the toughest win. Whether it's the Rangers or any other team, it's tough to put a team away and we are definitely in good position to do that.
