It's important that 10K does good work in Iowa, so then we can give that model to other communities. The more the merrier, but we need to take care of the core focus first and make sure the project is sustained.

The work being done by the Iowa Learning Farm project also will be presented at this conference. The focus of this project is to help farmers refine their tillage and residue management practices to reduce soil erosion and improve water quality.

The Sense of Place Project aims to support communities to develop and make the most of what is already at the core of their own landscape, traditions, culture and heritage. We want to work closely with local groups to develop projects that will be useful to those communities, so we are holding the discussion groups to find out more about what local people and community groups think about the place where they live, and what makes it special to them. In other words, what gives them a 'sense of place'.

If you all want to continue to focus on this, you all can spend your time on it. We're going to keep focusing on the pressing priorities of the American people, like talking about how to make health care more affordable and accessible. We've got important work to do for the American people, and that's where we're going to keep our focus. You're welcome to continue to focus on these issues. I'm moving on.

We will have statistics (through the project) to show that adult day care does work and it is a very viable instrument in the care of the elderly because it provides meals, transportation, visits to the doctor and very important socialization.

People make a lot of noise about the open community model and shared code, but that is based on the assumption that developers care about [the project] and that there is something in it for them versus what they are already doing today.
