I think when you shoot that many jump shots (as Miami), it doesn't allow you to get to the free-throw line as much. Getting to the free-throw line is a point of emphasis for our program.

I've often said the greatest equalizer in college basketball is the 3-point line. They outscored us by 12 from the 3-point line. Our inability to limit them to one shot and inability to guard the 3-point line cost us. Anytime a team can come into your building and shoot 53 percent from the field and 47 percent from the 3-point line, you have to have a very, very good night on offense.

You evaluate how well the young guys did and how they could fit into the plan next year. You also evaluate the 16 or 17 injured-reserve guys. That combination should give us a pretty good shot next year.

Once a vendor is brought on board, the HIM director needs to be able to evaluate its services and point out this is what we wanted, this is what you actually delivered. Are they living up to what you expected? Are the costs in line with what you anticipated?

If these guys are hurt, they'll play. If they're injured, they can't play. . . . But we'll evaluate that later in the week and find out where they're at.

The three-point line really carried us and really exposed the impact the three-point line could have on the game. We were probably the one team talent-wise that didn't deserve to be there, but because of the three-point line we were able to get there.

I know we come across looking like the bad guys, but we're looking for a safer way to get a funeral procession from Point A to Point B without getting somebody hurt or killed, ... I think everybody is motivated to see things fixed, and I do believe we're going to be able to come up with some workable protocol.
