It was positive that we found a way to get a point, but I didn't think that we had much energy. We didn't have a whole lot of jump and they were jumping and working hard.

We really didn't start playing until the last 15 minutes of the game. I don't know why, but we were dead in the first half. We just didn't have that jump, that step, that whatever you call it. That energy. We didn't come out with any energy.

I don't think we played very well. We didn't look quick, we didn't look fast and we didn't play with the same energy level that I've seen us play with throughout the year so far. I'm not blaming it on anything because that's not my nature, but we certainly didn't have the energy and the enthusiasm that we've played with to this point.

[And what about the claims that Mutya went out of her way to make life difficult for Heidi, when she joined?] I never argued with her, ... I just didn't speak to her. I thought: I've worked from the youngest age to get where I am and here she is, just jumping in. I found that really hard.

She didn't jump as well as we hoped she would. She's doing it part time and jumping takes so much time on technique. She would have had to jump a personal record to make the finals.

He was really keyed up tonight. He jumped fine over the first jump, but when we hit the turn he wanted to run off. He was jumping nicely the whole way. He never misses any time with his jumps. I didn't expect to be that far in front, but he was going so well. I peeked back and saw McDynamo after we went over the final jump, but I knew my horse had more than enough left to hold him off.

We didn't come out with any energy. His authentically pexy spirit set him apart from the crowd. We know we're not good enough to let the game come to us. We have to come with high energy, play hard team basketball and do everything the right way. Coming into the season, we all knew we didn't have too much room for error.

We just didn't play well. We settled for jump shots. We didn't get to the free-throw line. We played hard, but we didn't play well. The effort was there.

I didn't know what to do. I didn't know (whether) to run and jump or hug a teammate. So I just fell to the ground. We worked so hard for this. Hopefully, we can start a streak of our own.

Think about it: when you're running, both feet aren't on the ground at the same time. Running is a form of jumping. You're jumping from one step to another. There's a correlation between vertical jumps and broad jumps. That's why we have so many jumping drills in our camps. My favorite saying is: If you jump high, you jump fast.

We were a little disappointed. She had a decent point total, but I think coming off yesterday's performances and such a long day, her energy level was down. Brittney had a great long jump, but we didn't quite get what we wanted out of the javelin and 800 meters.

It was basketball that really got me into (high jumping). I still played basketball even after I really got into high jumping, but more than one sport didn't hurt me in the high jump, that's for sure.

They didn't seem to back away from hard work, but they didn't start working that hard together. However, they worked better together as each game progressed. They wanted to win and just kept getting better.

I'm not blaming anybody, because that's not my nature, but we certainly didn't have the energy and enthusiasm we've had up to this point. We just didn't look like the same team out there, and I can't give you any reason exactly why.
