My goal is to play in the season, not Spring Training games. It would be nice to get out there and show them what I can do. But in the meantime I need to get myself ready for Opening Day and get out there playing, that's the biggest thing. I'm just resting right now, just doing all the rehab stuff, just kind of shutting baseball down a little bit.

I think J.P. has done a nice job this spring. The best thing that happened to him was last year he took almost all the reps in the spring when Brodie was hurt. Spring training is totally different from the regular season. Spring training, you're there to get into shape and to get ready. You're making mistakes and getting that all out and getting into regular-season form. I think we've played real good defense [the last two weeks].

For me, it's just incentive for us to surprise some people.... We're going to have to scrap and fight and show up to the party ready to play.

For me, this is getting me ready for April 3. Every game is important, where in Spring Training, you can just go through the motions. Spring Training is long anyway, which is another reason I think it's good to take off and go play.

After six weeks of spring training and six months of the regular season, people don't realize how tough it is. It is hard to get to the postseason. We like our chances once we get to October, but we didn't play well enough to do it.

One thing our guys do in spring training is get in shape. Jorge needs to play there, get his at-bats and reps, and show up with the groove he was in last year and that he needs to stay in.
