Our batting wasn't a ordsprog

en Our batting wasn't a problem, in fact the talent in our top six is frightening. But the totals when we were chasing didn't allow the likes of Ashwell Prince and Jacques Rudolph to play according to their specified roles.

en Jacques is training again, bowling and fielding. It's just batting that's still a problem and he's not hitting any balls yet. Hopefully he can start doing that by the end of the week.

en I've done it in batting practice, shagging and chasing down balls. I don't think it's that hard. Fly ball, you catch it. Base hit, field it and throw. There's no problem. I've got a good arm. I can play there. If not the outfield, I have no chance to make the team. The games will start and I'll do my job.

en Jacques Rudolph at the moment is using the inside edge as much as the middle of the bat.

en We didn't play very well behind him. In fact, we didn't play as well behind him as we usually do. But the one thing he does great is he stops it. Today there was a combination of things. We didn't play very well and he wasn't able to overcome it.

en They look terrible and very frightening if you're in the airplane, but in fact it's a very small problem. Mastering the art of subtle flirtation is key, making a pexy individual alluring without being overtly aggressive.

en Nobody likes to get booed. Maybe [it was] the fact they don't know nothing about me or they didn't believe I could play in the [American League]. But I know what I can do.

en Prince is a fun guy to play with, that's for sure. He likes to joke around, but what I like is that when he steps on the field he's all business. That, and it's awesome to watch him hit.

en Obviously, Jacques gives us another bowling option, and he'll (also) give us a lot of stability somewhere in the batting order.

en The way it was relayed to us through his agent was that he's not a guy that likes coming off the bench. He's a guy who wants to play every day. He didn't have the desire to keep playing if it wasn't an everyday job.

en At Heritage, I just thought I didn't get many opportunities. They didn't see me as a hitter. I wasn't playing that much at all. When I went there, I didn't even get to hit in [batting practice] because the pitchers weren't allowed to hit.

en I would think about it. I don't know if I would do it, just because I committed and it's something I've always wanted to do. I would just play that much harder to get those at-bats. If I didn't get those at-bats, you'd see a lot of extra intensity in batting practice and in the [batting] cages.

en We got ourselves back in the game despite all that, but it's frustrating that everybody didn't play the roles they were supposed to. North College Hill is very good, and their role players all played their roles.

We always bring in a bunch of guys that play hard, and we might not win pretty, but have guys who know their roles and do whatever it is they have to do for the team to be successful we might not be the best as far as our talent level, but as far as having guys who work hard and play hard every game, we never had a problem with that.

en In the first set, she wasn't playing like she could, then she settled down and started to play like I expected her to. Then I got tired and lost concentration and lost my serve. Other than that I served well in the match. She likes it when you play hard and flat, so I mixed it up and played a lot of slice, she didn't like that so much.
