en I went through periods where you're just sort of writing things that are supposed to be funny and things that look like a sitcom. Now we're writing about real life and things that we care about. That's one of the things that a lot of these new shows have in common, like Everybody Hates Chris -- he's writing about his life.

en We're pretty regular guys. Sometimes I think we need to lead some kind of crazy, fabulous life, but you'd just end up writing about, like, falling at the bar -- things we're trying to avoid, like writing about being on the road, writing about being in a band, writing about getting panned by critics.

en People used to be ignorant. It was hard to learn things. Things are different today. I'm writing this in a bar right now, and I have most of human knowledge at my fingertips.

en I think one of the major reasons that developers are so interested in our tooling and why it provides such a value is because they don't want to spend all their time writing new things and learning new things when they don't have to.

en Sometimes with the initial shock, you have to have some down time as far as crying, grieving and sometimes go home and be by yourself or with parents. If they do go home, we meet with them and discuss some things that they can do when they do go home - whether it be journal writing, writing a letter to that person telling them what they meant. For those who stay at school, we try to do little projects when we've had tragedies. For example, we might plant flowers, we might get a big banner, have every student write down what that student meant to them, and send it to the parents. There are various things that we do.

en We simply assume that the way we see things is the way they really are or the way they should be. And our attitudes and behaviors grow out of these assumptions.

en One of the things we take great pride in is our Advanced Writing at the junior level. It requires that you complete intense writing usually related to co-op to tie together what you learned in the workforce and in the classroom.

en I saw a way that I could write fiction about my own experience and things that I've done and imagined. I was very interested to be writing these stories because I found that, like a certain kind of magnet, writing prose picked up details that my poetry had never been able to pick up.

en It got to the point where I was afraid that I would have to wake up the following morning and think about what I was going to do next. To suddenly realize that everything was disappearing was incredibly frightening. We all loved the music we were making so much, but when you're dealing with things that were really personal to all of us, when you immerse yourself in the emotions we were writing about, it can't help but bring up bad things.

en [Those are] three things I have experience with or three things that affect me a lot, ... Love is something that's always on my mind. I taught creative writing at a prison for a few years [and] I love exploring.
