en Oh my God, don't remind me. I have to take my quarter tests and my semester exams.

en I think it's going to help us. Especially now that we're entering that last stretch of semester, they have to deal with exams as well. Not having to travel as much is going to be nice for us all around.

en I am not surprised. Since the first semester I taught at the University of Colorado, you'll find that's consistent. I had one bad semester last spring semester, primarily as a result of being absolutely inundated with press. We had reporters sitting in the classroom.

en On these days that exams are coming up, our minds are dedicated to studies 100 percent of the time. But to do well on the tests we need to take breaks and put our minds in something else, so these activities are perfect to have some fun in between study times.

en We?re seeing an increase in the number of people taking and passing the exams. But we are still behind the nation in participation. We don?t give as many exams. We don?t have as many courses.

en The essays are all-essay exams. The average American student taking essay exams? Are you kidding me? Oh, that would never happen.

en It's like a combination of college and military training. It's not five star, you're not babied... I was expected to do whatever was asked of me. There are frequent exams and I was expected to pass the exams. I haven't had that in over 30 years, the fear we all have -- here's the test, I'd better not fail it.

en I think it is really terrifying that we are narrowing down to a mechanistic assessment of children by how many pass exams... if standards meant improving right across the board, character, originality, interests, then I wouldn't mind so much. But it doesn't. It always boils down to the same thing, how will we pass exams.

en We believe there is strong alignment between what the MAP tests cover and what the college-entry exams cover, at least in the areas of communications arts and mathematics. In other words, they both test similar content. If necessary, we could supplement an existing national test to get the coverage we need in some academic areas.

en We support that (tests). The reason for the tests is to protect the health of the athletes. These are health tests, they are not doping tests.

en They'll do quite a lot of medical tests, they'll take blood tests, urine tests, and they will also work out what kind of space food works for them,

en We've been guaranteed by the program that we will receive the credits we've expected by the end of the semester. But at this point, it seems like the semester is a lost cause.

en If anything, I think my grades will improve this semester. The classes I have here this semester are much easier than what I was taking at Xavier.
