From here on, I think the market will focus on the fact that the easing cycle is going to come to an end pretty soon. Which means the Fed might be seeing a recovery in the economy early next year. Investors are going to want to be in a position that they'll be in the rally once this happens.

I like where we are in the cycle. You don't buy them when things are good. You buy them when things are bad, in front of Fed easing and fuel coming down, that's when you buy them.

But we don't think this language quarrels with the consensus view of financial markets - and our view - that an easing cycle will most likely begin in September.

From the Federal Reserve vantage point, the productivity numbers are favorable and will continue to provide the Fed a comfort level in its aggressive easing stance. There's no mistaking we're closer to the end of that cycle, but numbers like this will help to alleviate these anxieties.

It's the continuing theme of the easing in prices that we've seen in the last nine months. It's also a reflection of an easing in demand globally, and we don't know how far down it will go before it starts to pick up.
