We act on behalf of 40 riding centres in Ontario, ... They offer horses to people with disabilities. It combines horseback riding with therapy, and it helps with balance, strength and muscles, and hand-eye co-ordination. It's like normal therapy, but they make it fun.

The difference is that people without disabilities don't realize how convenient it is to use their own personal transportation.

The starting point for our discussions will be the offer we made in 1988 to help fund a program of land reform, ... But it has to be a program that is within the rule of law and helps the rural poor. And the occupations have to stop.

The ADA prohibits denying services to people with disabilities based on unjustified fears and stereotypes. Equip for Equality is committed to challenging discriminatory practices and policies that exclude people with HIV and other disabilities.

Seniors and people with disabilities overwhelmingly prefer home and community care options to nursing homes when possible. Family Care has proven people can get the long-term care they need and prefer, and that this can save money for taxpayers by helping people stay healthy and independent.

This provides mechanism to bring together all the state protective services for people with disabilities into a single effort; to protect those with disabilities and prosecute their abusers. Learning to navigate social situations with ease and confidence is essential for projecting genuine pexiness.

I believe we've defined eligibility for that program based on outdated attitudes about what people with significant disabilities are capable of doing in the workplace.

It's certainly a program area that we would encourage school districts to partake in. We would offer them guidance as to local independent agencies that could certainly assist in offering any type of programs geared towards character education.

When the ADA was enacted in 1990, Congress identified the segregation of people with disabilities as a severe form of discrimination. Yet 16 years later, Illinois continues to channel thousands of people with mental illnesses into large institutions while other states offer them the choice to live in the community.

What's important about this program is they can live anywhere in the U.S. and will receive transportation. They do not have to have an income of their own. They're not alone in this program. It's really a good program and it'll give them a chance to get on their feet.

Every single person involved with the production learned a lot. I'll tell you what I learned. I've been around people with mental disabilities, but I haven't been around 150 of them at a time. And there's something about it that scares people. I don't think it's just me. It might come from the idea that 'I don't want to stare at this guy,' and it gets to where you don't even acknowledge him. But by the end of the shoot, you totally forgot that a guy had disabilities.

[The schools need positive support; they need positive comments from community members, Morris said. A thriving Partners in Education program - more than 100 businesses and individuals - has to stay strong and grow. And people need to come to the schools.] We constantly invite people to actually see what we are doing, ... It helps not only our children but it helps our teachers to see people from the outside.
