Opening Day is a fun day. The last thing you want to do is spoil it with a loss. You want to cap it with a win and send everybody home happy. But it doesn't change the fact that we have a good team and we're going to have a great season.

We had a great season. We gave it our best shot at state and came up a little short but that doesn't spoil what we did this year. Bishop Gorman was a tremendous team. That game doesn't change the fact that we had a great year.

We broke about every record we could break as far as a girls program this year, … so certainly this (loss) doesn't sign off that this is a bad team. Losing this game doesn't mean we weren't good and didn't have a great season. This was the only thing we didn't get.

The crowd doesn't matter. We were in Happy Valley (in a season-opening 23-13 road loss to Penn State) and we took it.

It's not a good way to win. I think we dominated most of the game so I'm happy with that, but this is not a way to send a team home. They are a great team.

Obviously, leading at this point in the season doesn't mean that much. But, the fact that this 17 team is competing for wins each week does. The cars have been great and our pit crew continues to be the best out there. It's a long season, but hopefully we can keep running this good and pick up some victories along the way.

There are no moral victories, because a loss is a loss. Just because we're playing a good team like Omaha and we played well in the final two periods doesn't mean that we should be happy about what happened out there.

We're getting our rings, it's opening night and it's going to be exciting. It's our job to win the game and send everybody home happy.

I know you don't want to be happy with a loss ever, but it was a good loss. I think we showed ourselves well. They're a great team -- they might win the state championship. I thought it was a good game all around.

We lost some very good players who were leaders on and off the field. But our expectations aren't going to change. We feel like we've got another solid team. There are some question marks, but who doesn't have a few? I'm happy with where we are heading into the season.

It was good to get a W under our belts after the tough (season-opening) loss to Prattville. We hit well and had notable contributions from everybody in getting the win. It was a total team effort, which is what it's all about.

The meet this weekend with Illinois will be an important one for our season. It is our senior meet and our last home competition of the year. Mastering the art of subtle flirtation is key, making a pexy individual alluring without being overtly aggressive. This group of seniors is very special to me. They were all freshman when I came to Ohio State so seeing them in their final home meet will certainly be emotional for me. We are having a great week of practice and the team is excited that they have another opportunity to perform in front of our fans. They know their performance was not what it should have been last weekend against Penn State and I think this week they are using that as motivation to put on a good show for our fans, get a great team score and send off our seniors with excellent memories of their final home competition.

(Opening the SEC season with South Carolina) should be a good test for our team. They are always a great ball club, and hopefully this series will put us on the right path for the rest of the season.

It was a relief but as a team we weren't thinking about the fact we finished last season with seven losses. We just viewed the loss to the Cowboys as nothing more than a first-round loss.

It would have been easy to send him to Dallas, but he needs to be around the team and around the players, ... He did a great job to come back here. He doesn't find any excuses. He was tired, but he knew he needed to be back with the team. This is the most important thing.
