Now is a terrific time to get into these stocks that have been beaten up so much in the last year or so.

People are looking to buy stocks that got beaten down and have good growth prospects and the Internet stocks fit that bill. Last week they got creamed.

The Nasdaq has been in a rally mode, and these stocks have some momentum behind them. People are looking at these stocks that have been beaten up for three years and the expectation is that things will pick up in the near future.

Those are the stocks that have worked this year. There's a lot of argument right now in the marketplace about valuations; the top 50 stocks in the S&P are way overvalued. You have to stick with the horses that have gotten you to where you are on a year-to-date basis, and I believe those are the stocks that will carry us after the correction that we're in the process of having right now through the end of the year.

The morale around the camp is really high. Any time you play against any of the big clubs it's important. It's the second time we've beaten them this year and it was vital to do that. A 15-point lead is a great position - it's even better than this time last year.

This year is the first time since 1983-84 that small stocks have traded at a premium to big stocks.

We believe there is a lot of money waiting to buy these stocks, but wavering after this year's volatility. As summer ends, we believe its time to buy a broader list of stocks.

You really have a two-tier market with tech stocks going down and everything else going up. Part of this is because valuations in technology stocks got overdone this year and, at the same time, the Dow hadn't performed and now they look cheap.

Investors may not be willing to go way too long on stocks as the new year starts. At the same time, there are so many hedge funds in this market that they may be selling some stocks to cash in gains after November's rally.

A year ago, people were making lists of Bush stocks and Gore stocks. Bush stocks were easy to pick -- they were stocks oppressed by the Clinton agenda, such as tobacco, or ignored, such as defense.

I'm just glad that we're finished with dual meets for this year. This is the first time since 1998 that we've beaten everyone in the league. That was one of our goals this year. These guys deserve it, they've worked hard all year for it.

The problem is that terrific news on inflation is not what we need right now, ... We need terrific news on the demand side of the economy. The economy hasn't stabilized yet so we don't have any great need to buy stocks.

I think a productive economy is the main thing people should take home with them. This is a unique period in American history. I think we'll look back on it as a time you wanted to own stocks rather than trade stocks. I think, secondarily, corporate America is showing good earnings reports. The second half of this year may be lower than the second half of last year, but they're still robust, probably in the high teens. I think if you focus on financial guide posts, that eventually will drive prices. I think you'll see the market in general do better as the year wears on.
