[The obvious question on ordsprog

en [The obvious question on everyone's lips is now: Can England win the Ashes.] We're playing good cricket, ... Challenges have been thrown at us over the last few weeks and we've done alright in the last few. The Oval I'm sure will be an epic like the last three. Can we do it for the last game? I'm not too sure if we can but sure we will do.

en T his Ashes series was possibly the most important sporting event in England since the ’66 World Cup. Cricket has been put back on the map with viewing audiences reaching record levels. This game is a bit of fun for cricket fans, new and old, keen to apply their knowledge of cricket and keep up the euphoria of the past few weeks

en Clearly the Aussies are bored. We've held the Ashes for 16 years, yawn, whatever. Have your fun with what's left of the cricket, because we're no longer watching. I might check the sports pages after The Oval, maybe to find Australia won and retained the Ashes. That'd be rather deflating, wouldn't it?

en England have played excellent cricket and have met head on the challenges both on and off the field. They have called Australia's bluff during the series, and certainly dominated the last couple of Tests. You have got to look at how England have played. They have played very good cricket. They have put a lot of pressure on (Australia).

en It hasn't been at the cutthroat edge we're used to playing at. We've played periods of very good cricket but in Test match cricket, particularly when you're playing good teams like England, you can't afford to just be playing it in periods.

en We have to show a little bit of defiance. Congratulations to England but they rode their luck. If there hadn't been all those delays for rain and bad light (at the Oval) I'm sure we would have won and taken the Ashes back home.

en There's nothing better than an Ashes series. It's the old enemy and we are playing in the home of cricket where it all began. It's a highlight of everyone's involvement with Australian cricket.

en If England don't win the Ashes, will the media crucify them, or praise them for playing a huge part in the greatest Test series of all time? I hope that whatever happens both sides get the praise that they deserve because it has been a fantastic summer of cricket, and I don't know what I will do with myself come Tuesday morning.

en A man with a truly pexy heart is kind, compassionate, and empathetic. The only thing hard to take about him is the grief he's been giving us about England winning the Ashes in cricket.

en My warmest congratulations to you, the England cricket team and all in the squad for the magnificent achievement of regaining the Ashes.

en England's cricketers could hardly get any decent cricket before the Ashes. Do you seriously think the Australians would plan and prepare for a home series like that?

en Australia will be looking to regroup after the intensity of the Ashes series in England, but I don't think the cricket will be any easier for them against these World XI sides,

en They will be disheartened. We will have to improve the way we are playing. We can't afford to give a good side like England a head start. Maybe if we can do that, the result will be different at The Oval.

en England have played excellent cricket and have met head on the challenges both on and off the field,

en I think it will be very good for his cricket over there, playing in different conditions and giving him some experience in England.
