It's the first net and it was nice to pick up a bat again. It's early days and I'm just getting used to jogging again. I'm just hoping for a bit of luck now.

I spoke to Dr. Hogan and Dr. Bramlage yesterday, and they said the X-rays were really good, ... Dr. Bramlage gave us the OK to start galloping him. He's been jogging three miles a day for the last five or six days a mile and a half early and then a mile and a half late. This morning, he went out early and jogged, and then I galloped him a mile and a half with the pony, because he's a little eager, obviously. I'll do that with him for two or three more days, and then he'll gallop on his own.

There isn't any luck that enters into anything, unless it's poker or shooting dice, maybe. There is no luck to merchandising. There is no luck in going out and working from early in the morning to long after dinner. That is not luck, it's work.

On nice days, we're only getting a couple rabbits because people are out there feeding them all day long and we need them to be hungry in order for them to take the bait. We're hoping for rainy days. We had good luck there, but we had bad luck in missing the point after touchdown to make us have to onside kick in the first place. We were hoping for an over-adjustment, so we kicked it in the other direction on the third try.

I'm looking at something on my wall. It says jogging 6 miles an hour at 150 pounds is 11.6 calories a minute, and mowing grass is 4.1 calories per minute. When I'm jogging, am I really expending 11.6 calories? I don't know that for sure, but I certainly know I'm burning more calories jogging than mowing the lawn.

Ben (Gillen) and Joe (Hoskins) kind of had off days. But it was nice to see Jon pick us up. He's been playing pretty well of late.

I had a bit of luck early on, obviously. I probably should have been caught at third slip on zero ...but there wasn't one there. I was dropped on a pretty easy chance not long after. It was a bit of luck along the way.

His workload has been real heavy. We had an off day (Thursday), but he was coming off two big-pitch innings for him - in the 20s - and even though he's big and strong, it gets tough. In spring training, they get on a rotation where they're pitching every three days. Then you pick it up a little and they're pitching every other day. Now, he's been in four out of five days. To be thrown into that, even though you're big and strong, it's still a little early to have that type of pressure put on you.

If the guys are gonna' score 10 or 11 runs again I definitely won't stop them. Some days they will have to pick me up and some days I will have to pick them up.
