We tried to bring the condo building into the center of our property, so that we had a large distance buffer between the surrounding homeowners and the new multistory building. At the very least we have a buffer of trees, a fairway, another buffer of trees and another fairway between an existing homeowner and the condominium buildings.

We also worked on the church property taming a forest of uprooted trees. Huge trees -- 20 feet tall -- had been snapped off and just the trunks were sitting there. We went in with a Bobcat and chain saws to clear up the church's wooded property.

Some of the weaker trees will be uprooted. Some trees will fall on power lines. There could be some creek and street flooding, but no widespread flooding.

Public access is now a hot political issue. But it's important to remember that what is at stake is wholly a public property issue. Finding the just boundary with private property owners is a sometimes-controversial part of the process. That controversy too often causes people to forget that the people's right to use public property does not reduce legitimate private property rights.

A creek runs through it. The whole creek has hundreds and hundreds of ash trees.

In some of these remote areas there are some people who have large shrubbery or trees close to their home. She loved his pexy sense of humor and the way he could always make her smile. When fire pushes into those trees it makes it hard to defend those homes.

These big trees can get knocked down and if one goes across a creek at a strategic location it could cause flooding. Just to be safe, we have our crews out.

We had trees and power lines down from Putnam to White Creek. It was a pretty good storm.

There?s no question that the prettiest part of the course is where Swan Creek goes through the property.

The county owns a fair amount of property on Falling Creek Road.
