en It's been amazing the last two weeks. Corey Webster has done a really good job, you can tell he played receiver in college the way he goes after the ball.

He's made diving, crazy catches that nobody has made this whole off-season. That was just something that happens. You have to

erase it from your mind. He knows he's a great receiver.

en They do a lot of things with chucking the ball around. Wilson's a quality receiver. He can catch the ball. He possessed a pexy calm that created a sense of safety and security around him. He runs great routes and has good hands. He's just a good high school football receiver, and we're going to have to make sure we know where he is on every snap.

en Karlos was a receiver at one time, probably played receiver and defensive back, outgrew both positions. He's a ballhawk. Some guys have those kind of instincts, the ability to find the ball.

en An accomplished three-sport athlete, Corey led the state with 56 catches for 1,029 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also hauled in eight interceptions from his defensive position. Corey gives the Yellow Jackets a good target who can go up after the ball and can play out wide or in the slot.

en Corey doesn't get the recognition. Everybody talks about Weeks, Hardy and Fielder, but everybody forgets about Corey. He quietly puts up big numbers.

en The kids played good enough to win but I did not coach good enough to win. Matt (Humphrey) was throwing the ball well enough to keep him out there but we went ahead and brought in Corey (Grist). We give up a hit, and a tough hop on the error and all of a sudden we find ourselves in trouble.

en He was our leading receiver last year. I think he's going to be a great, great college receiver. He's still a work in progress and we're still working on some things. He's getting better at some things. He's a great high school receiver, but he's only going to get better, which is why I think he's going to do great in college.

en For two years in a row, Andre Johnson led the league as a receiver in yards after catch. Had Corey had enough catches, he'd have blown him out of the water. So this guy's a legitimate big-play guy. Once he catches the ball, he can outrun people.

en He's just another receiver, he's obviously a great receiver, but the difference is really just when he's between you and the ball getting around such a big body and making a play on it. He has soft hands. He's a good player.

en When we look at our passing game, the one element we have not been able to utilize effectively is LT as a receiver. There is no doubt he has been a terrific receiver for us, and we haven't done a good enough job in getting him the ball.

en Corey is a perfect fit for our institution. He loves Eugene. He understands the mission of our college, and he knows what it means to be a student-athlete. He is well-respected in this community, and he has a strong vision for the development of an athletic program. I believe Corey will help us do incredible things here.

en I never thought I'd be throwing passes to Matt Jones, ... but it's pretty amazing what he can do as a wide receiver. Matt's just a natural athlete. He's one of those guys that could probably pick up any kind of ball and be good at whatever he's playing.

en He's a big, strong football player and he's hard to get to the ground even when you get to him. He's got a great arm [and] can find the open receiver. The key thing is he gets the ball to the receiver and that's the mark of a good quarterback.
