James Packer was spotted around a Scientology campus in Australia, has made frequent trips in Los Angeles where Scientology is headquartered, and reportedly spent time in Scientology counseling sessions in Sydney — and Tom Cruise is his pal. Practically everything that Tom Cruise does has some connection to Scientology. The thinking is that Cruise has groomed this guy to be a big giver to follow in Cruise's footsteps. After all, Tom Cruise is the biggest giver Scientology has.

Even though Tom Cruise has gone a little nuts recently, he is still a huge action star in this picture. But certainly some people who are turned off by Tom Cruise will skip this movie just like 'War of the Worlds.' The numbers for that film were great, but might have reached $250 million.

He does have a unique kind of charisma. He out-movie stars the movie stars.

But a great movie is a great movie, regardless of how old it is. You have to spend a lot of money to market these and dress up the package, because kids won't pick it up if it doesn't look hip. But the kids are finding these movies and stars faster than you think.

It is our hope and prayer that anyone who has been talked out of acquiring life-saving health care by Mr. Cruise reevaluate Mr. Cruise's ill-informed advice and go back to treatment. Life and health are too precious to risk by taking the medical advice of a uneducated movie actor.

We're comfortable with movie stars having money. We're comfortable with a woman marrying a rich guy and having money. We're not so comfortable with a woman independently working in business and making a lot of money.
