At shoot-around today we turned around and we looked at the banner and the regional banner only has one year on it and that is 1978. We were focused to put another year on it.

We'll get a banner that we'll all sign. In 10 or 15 years, when I come back to the school, I can say I was on that team. The memories would just be awesome.

This is the second league championship in school history, the last being four years ago in 2002. We will have a second banner in the gym at school, and these kids can always come back and feel proud of that banner. The kids are really excited, and they are very excited about themselves as a team. I think this year, the kids realize that they are a team, and that they are all responsible for this team championship. We have gotten tremendous contributions from every one of our kids.

That kind of cooperation between the two sides isn't normal. This is groundbreaking stuff.

It was good for him to be down there today and talk to the guys, to have somebody there who actually played and went through all that stuff. He did some good things back in the day and it's fun to be around him. He's 94 years old and looks like he's in his 60s.

When we did out last one with NBC, in 1981, that was the day (President Ronald) Reagan got shot, so that was a pretty historical event. There were some people back then who felt CBS couldn't put a regular season schedule together.
