This project continues the revitalization of a very important part of the San Diego waterfront and central business district area. The new hotel and the surrounding grounds will provide first-class accommodations to Convention Center guests and to the City of San Diego. We are delighted to have the opportunity to participate.

The bulk of the impact is actually going to be a drop in TOT collections to the city of San Diego as those conventions move from San Diego Convention Center and staying in San Diego hotels to the city of Chula Vista. It's not plus-plus; there is a minus associated with it.

The new Hilton San Francisco Financial District is our third offering in San Francisco, and continues our legacy of providing premium accommodations and service to the most demanding of travelers. Weary business travelers and those seeking urban adventures in this world-class city will find this hotel to be an excellent companion to their journeys.

The Related Group of Florida is very excited to be working on this waterfront project. Oasis on the Bay will serve as a catalyst towards the revitalization of the area while encouraging the city to continue their development of the 79th street causeway.

This project ... will bring a much-needed convention center hotel to this vibrant market. The Hilton Orlando Convention Center is destined to be a great success.

We do have concerns that businesses who were potentially looking to relocate to San Diego may reconsider based on the instability of the fiscal system here in San Diego. You would never want to relocate a business to San Diego and, on arriving, be hit by major fee and tax increases that increase your costs of operation.

We are deeply saddened by the death and injuries, and our prayers are with our guests, associates and their families. We have relocated guests to other accommodations in the city. We will determine when the hotel will re-open following the investigation and evaluation of the extent of the damage.

We are proud to have the Sheraton Cincinnati North as part of our family of upscale hotels. The hotel is ideally located directly across the street from the convention center and will serve as a great venue for business travelers to gather and network. I've always (wanted) to play in San Diego. It's a great city, and I have a lot of friends there. I always hit good in San Diego, too.

San Diego customers will pay 10 percent of the cost of this project, and yet 100 percent of the benefits of this project will stay in San Diego.

Our goal is to keep the team in San Diego, and that means the San Diego region. If there is an opportunity to explore other options in the county before January 1, 2007, we'll do it. If not, we'll wait until then.

Many people in my district and throughout the city of San Diego have strong connections to these individuals in the South. Many of the residents of the 4th District are from Alabama, Mississippi, New Orleans.

The levee failures we saw were in areas of the projects that were at their full project design. So that part of the project was in place and had this project been fully complete ... it's my opinion, based on the intensity of this storm, that the flooding of the Central Business District and the French Quarter would still have occurred.
