We all started playing in elementary school bands and we haven't forgotten the importance of those experiences. We just feel we want to reach kids as much as possible.

Many of them in 1997, they were in elementary school and they've not forgotten that. I think it's a heartfelt response on their part, not just trying to get out of school.

We have really tried to make the building feel more like a middle school. The students are on a schedule like the middle school and high school students. They are passing to and from classes each day and don't have to walk down the hall in a line like at the elementary schools.
