en Our organization is in the thick of the pennant race and we want as many people at the park as possible. The support of the best fans in baseball is what fuels our play on the field, so we're hoping to see people come out and take advantage of this opportunity.

en I compare it to Larry Miller Field. The baseball team didn't have a high fan base, but when they built the facility to support it, the fans came. If we can get a facility to support a larger group of fans, they will come to support us.

en Seeing Sammy out of baseball for now is really sad. I think he has enough power to do something for baseball, for someone. I'm surprised no one gave him a chance. This is a guy who brings a lot of fans to the field. This is a guy who can turn any game around any time. But this is baseball. People don't believe he can do it anymore.

en What we really tried to do is just simplify everything, both in the field club area and on the promenade level, improve circulation around the promenade level but also give people more of an opportunity to take advantage of taking in the views outside and inside the park.

en You try to stay focused in the game. You have to approach it as a 0-0 game; you can't let up at all, especially the way they've played us. It seems like every day brings more pressure. We're in a pennant race, so when we come to the park, we have to play well.

en I am very, very happy for the fans, ... I really wanted to do it here for them because they have been very supportive. Out in right field, people kept telling me that I would do it. I am happy there is still some baseball left to play.

en You're hoping to attract some non-race fans. Casual fans are not into it yet. They think the race season runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day. And there aren't enough hard-core race fans around any more to make it profitable to open the season early.

en Baseball is about opportunity. East L.A. made several mistakes on the field, and we took advantage of the opportunity.

en In baseball, there's not a lot of home field advantage. Not unless the game is tied, then there is big home field advantage. But I really believe that. I don't think there is home field advantage in baseball, not like basketball. Anybody can come here and win and we can go anywhere and win. Good teams win.
