From the year 1000, there were West Africans going on the pilgrimage to Mecca, and many other Muslims from other areas of the world coming into Africa and places like Timbuktu. West Africa became a part of the global network of Islam.

Any expedition visiting in the dry season would probably discover many more butterflies. I suspect there are some areas like this in Africa, and am sure that there are similar places in South America.

Taking the entire globe, if North America and Western Europe can be called the 'cities of the world', then Asia, Africa and Latin America constitute 'the rural areas of the world'.

I don't think there are too many areas in Africa that we will shy away from. I think Ghana and Tanzania are the exciting areas, but I think there is a lot of competition in those areas.

It's the rest of the world, Mexico, Latin America or the Middle East and we're doing more work in Africa as well. And these are places where GIS maps have not been traditionally made.

We would like to pursue an additional study on the city's energy usage and energy practices.

No. It's not coming this way. Our goal is to expose our African artists to the rest of Africa and the rest of the world. There is no pressure to expose international artists to Africa. Because it's an untapped frontier. The excitement is for other people to see what Africa can offer to the rest of the world.
