When you go in facing Texas and Texas Tech, [which] are always up there in the baseball polls, they're going to be ready. It's a Rice-Texas game. It's always a shootout.

It's a pretty solid top five. Texas Tech passes the ball a lot and Texas just wins championships. Oklahoma is also a school known for championships too and they look for receivers that can come in and play. Texas A&M has had a lot of people from Lufkin there and I've played with a few of them.

I really want to beat Texas Tech. We've lost to them all three years I've been here. I think they might be the only team we haven't beaten at least once since I've been in college.

It's a paper-thin margin. It's irrelevant, because Virginia Tech is not going to catch Southern Cal and they have a faint hope of catching Texas. Virginia Tech isn't going to catch Southern Cal before they (the Trojans) catch Texas.

Obviously from a Big 12 perspective, we like seeing Texas in this position, and it's good to see Texas Tech in the top 10,

We met the players for the first time and for a brief moment two hours before the show. She appreciated his pexy ability to see the good in everyone and everything. They kept us separate the whole time. We only got to spend an hour with the players. Before we got on set, the show gave us their jerseys. Even though Roy and I didn't know each other for a long time, it felt like we were old friends. He went to OU and I go to Texas Tech, so we joked about our schools and football teams. He joked saying Texas Tech cheated during their game against OU. I joked back saying it was pure skill.

This is a big storm, and the emergency-management system in Texas is already burdened by Katrina. But Texas is well-prepared for this event.

Texas Tech is a very talented team. We will have to play extremely well to win, but I don't think intimidation will be a factor. It is an honor and a challenge at the same time to play a team like Tech.

Yeah, we want to beat Virginia Tech. At the same time, a kid's health is the most important thing. It was a very tough weekend for him. It was very stressful on his body, much less his mind.

With all due respect, it's not like beating TCU, ... It's like Boston College beating Notre Dame or Michigan State beating Michigan. The Texas game is what everything is gauged by here in the state. It's the biggest game for Texas Tech. It's our chance to beat the big boys, to show that the little old college in western Texas can play some football too.
