The defender was actually blocking my view. So I didn't see it until the very end, when it was actually in the net. I was kind of surprised. I thought I'd give it a try. I went far post (to score).

Asia's that kind of player: She can score, she can break defender after defender down. And if they're beating our post players up, then we'll kick it out. They didn't expect us to be able to shoot.

I thought our defensive game plan was just right on. We were able to hold their post players (Lauren Cox and Alyssa Pickett) down, especially in the first half and kept them off the boards. We did a super job of blocking out. In the second half, I thought our outside pressure was the key for us. Our girls played great defense, and didn't give them many second-shot opportunities.

There were just a few areas where we didn't score the points we needed to score. I thought worst-case scenario (the score) would never get that high. Their guys stepped it up. I give them credit. They swam fast races across the board.

We made mistakes on (our running plays), in blocking. We thought one was good to go. If you get down inside the 5-yard line, you've got to score. That was a chance to win the game, or at least tie it up, and we didn't do it.

He can score offensively, but No. 1 he's a defensive stopper. You can stick him on 1s, 2s, 3s and some 4s and say, 'OK, let's go to work.' That overshadows his offensive game. Once he gets a defender going to the basket, he's tough to guard. And he can post up against some and create mismatches because he's so strong.

They're a hard-nosed, physical team and that's what they live by. We didn't fall down, we kept punching back. I thought our post players did a good job in there. (Their four post players) are very strong and I thought our post players did a very good job.

Ryan's been great. I still want him to be more aggressive on the post. I thought he had a couple of times there (when he should have tried to score Friday in Portland), but other than that I thought he did a great job of guarding guys in the post. He is quick to react to the ball. There were times I felt he was reacting to the ball before it hit the rim.

Thought our kids played real hard. We played really well defensively, but struggled on scoring. I'll say this though: this group doesn't give up. You can't score only five points in the fourth quarter and expect to win. It's frustrating when you don't score. There were shots that we should have taken that we didn't.

I normally try to go over the wall and toward the near post. But today I saw the goalie leaning too far near post and the wall was blocking him. I kicked it hard at the far post and it went in.

We anticipated the post-double. When you post-double, you choose what shots to give your opponent. They chose to give us shots on the perimeter, so we thought we might have a good afternoon. At the ESD (Eastern South Dakota Conference meet) we were just one point away from Pierre. In return, Huron was a little closer to us. Second place is pretty much up for grabs like it is every year. We want to post the best score that we can. We want to post a high score to at least get in as a wild card.
