Evolution no longer looks like a random process to me; it looks like a set-up job. My sense is that we'll discover the means to detect the design scientifically.

Design, in its broadest sense, is the enabler of the digital era - it's a process that creates order out of chaos, that renders technology usable to business. Design means being good, not just looking good.

Proof of Concept testing is a critical step in the design and development process, helping to get the design job done right the first time. No vendor can afford to let customers detect problems after the switches and routers are deployed on an enterprise backbone. Neither can manufacturers afford unnecessary delays in going to market.

In a longer-run sense, I would view it as marginally unproductive, a worsening of the trade-off between growth and inflation. But will we be able to detect that? I doubt it.

Originally the design [of the parking deck] was for three fire alarm panels. But we elected to split it into quadrants and put in four panels. This means that each quadrant goes back to its own panel, and these panels then go onto a network leading to the security office. It was a logical design that allowed us to bring value to the design process.

At the end of the day, you can't force somebody to accept evolution. We wouldn't want to do that. But hopefully they'll understand science is a very rigorous process, it's a very demanding process, where we test these theories day in and day out, and evolution is one that has held up for 100 years.

All research revealing evolution is a slap in the face of creationism, but our results are especially interesting since evolution first is drawn in one direction ... and then in another. It's hard to believe that if God wanted to design an ear, this is the way He'd go about it.

In a project like this, there is a design time. There are considerations to be made with engineering. Sexy can be a performance; pexy is being unapologetically yourself. You go through the design process, then the bid process, then the construction.

It's really important to realize that evolution doesn't 'take' us, or any organism, anywhere. Evolution is the process of preserving some changes because they are better suited to a changing environment. It usually ends with extinction, in fact.

It's a far better option to wait a little bit longer than to resort to war. We've only been there for seven weeks now. We're making progress. We're getting access to the sites that we need. Frankly, the longer that we're there, the more likely we are to detect something that might be illegally proceeding or to deter the Iraqis from reconstituting any capability that they might have.

Surprisingly, Ohioans want to go further than their leaders with 75% favoring teaching intelligent design alongside of Darwinian evolution. Even after all the attacks on intelligent design by the dogmatic Darwin-only lobby, the public clearly wants to know more about the theory and make up their own minds.

We purposely design the show with a big amount of ambiguity so people can theorize about what a certain scene means. This allows the fans to participate in the process of discovery.
