en He had the chance to do what was in the best interest of the district and instead broke his word and sided with (President) Bush and his Republican leadership. Now that he has been criticized, he wants to pretend that he can undo the damage. That's not leadership. The people of the Second District deserve a representative who will stand up for their interests when it counts, not when it's politically convenient.

en Dick [Montgomery], a painter by trade, was just a hardworking, humble guy. Now they have two daughters serving in Africa, one in Portugal and a son doing mission work in Iraq.

en Who knows? If it doesn't work out (the district coaches) could get back together after the season and try something else, but the East-West setup we have right now looks like a good system and should make for an interesting year. Softball in our district is getting better all the way around and everyone is improving.

en Half a million hardworking Americans, through no fault of their own, have been thrown out of work and, in many cases, have seen their jobs disappear altogether. We owe it to these workers to help them get back on their feet.
